Hydrolates

Hydrolates, often called floral waters, are by-products of the distillation of plant material in the production of essential oils.

For the production of hydrolates, as well as essential oils, it would be ideal to use certified organic plant material, free of pesticides and various chemicals, which consists of one botanical species, and clean water.

It is also important for the quality of the hydrolate how much water was used per kg of plant material, ie how much hydrolate was obtained from kg of plant mass. The rule here is that the less water, the better, or the more plant mass, the better. Information on the amount of hydrolate obtained from kg of plant mass must be on the certificate.

We use hydrolates for cosmetic purposes as natural tonics, or as an aqueous phase in the production of creams, gels, emulsions and masks.
