It is not retinol, it is bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is a plant extract that has recently become very interesting in the world of cosmetics and dermocosmetics. It gained its popularity due to its action which is very similar to retinol. Bakuchiol is obtained from the babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia, Hazel clover) that grows in India and Sri Lanka. He first isolated it in 1966 from the seeds of the said plant. Bakuchiol is a meroterpene (a chemical compound that has a partial terpenoid structure) in the terpenophenol class. The seeds of the plant have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese and Indian medicine to treat dermatitis, lichen and psoriasis because it has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects.
